I am thrilled to see so much positive energy, reflected in the many women’s marches a week ago Saturday and the protesters at airports yesterday. Trump has achieved quite a lot already in motivating people to assemble and take positive action.

At last Sunday’s meeting of the ACLU at the Marina public library, there was an overflow crowd out the side doors and into the lobby. Yes, there seems to be much positive (probably bordering on desperate) energy pouring out from members of the community. There are many who want to “do something”, “do anything”, to make a change. There are avenues available, inform yourselves, go to the website above. Get outside and volunteer. All hands on deck.

If I were 50 years younger, I’d be joining as many protests as possible. When my son was a toddler we circulated a petition in protest of the Humble Oil refinery at Moss Landing. I’ll never forget one of the comments: “Why should Marina be concerned about what happens in Moss Landing?” At least I’ve joined the ACLU. Apparently the organization has recently become flush with cash.
